There once was a beautiful atom of U
In love with an atom of sexy Ra,
The love was returned and was deep and was true
but the obstacle was that these atoms were gay.
U longed for her lover to show her its lust,
with its extra electron in her outside shell,
but there was no extra electron to thrust;
Ra was a positive ion as well.
They pined and lamented and loved from afar
and longed, physically their desire to express,
Until they discovered a luckier star
in the form of a negative ion named S.
He agreed to a trio, and soon they united,
and energy flowed among all of the three,
and all of the three were so deeply excited
they all promised, permanent partners to be.
"There is no such compound as USRa!"
some rude fundamentalist elements said.
"So what?" said the lovers. "Star Trek gets away
with science that is at least three times as bad!"
